Untitled pour study

I had all of the intention to try a horizontal quiet piece with little coloring and many coats of different colored glazes, but I just can't seem to stay away from the squirting, pouring and experimenting. This is acrylic, ink, liquid WC over watercolor paper pasted onto MDF board. I have always had problem with my WC paper buckling up when working this way but I was amazed at how easy it was to control the pour after pasting the paper to the MDF board. This is very small , 9X8 inches, but once I can get the control with different colors I will try bigger formats.

This is so absorbing - those swirling reds envelope you. Planning my move into abstract - excited and nervous at the same time.

Thank you Anita for the comment, I go into these pour episodes every once in a while, they are relaxing to watch.

I know you will enjoy abstracts, I am still fighting to find a style I will stick with.

wonderful pours, Mary. looks like an aerial view of an erupting volcano!

Thank you Billie, I don't know why I always end up with these colors in my pours, it reminds me of another one I had done, but I did something completely different today. :)

It feels warm, floating and safe. Beautiful!

This is an exciting piece Mary! I was reading that different people can react both positively and negatively to red. When I first opened your blog and saw this painting (which I have looked at several times) I was immediately excited by the colors and the movement, a very positive reaction. To me, it invokes thoughts of the creation of the universe. As for style; perhaps your style is to have more than one style?

Shayla, thank you for feeling it safe, sometimes red can be so violent in expression.

Leslie thank you for your visit and comment, I wonder sometimes why I change my style and sometimes come back to something similar, I think I search too much and should really stick to one until I feel it is what I want.

Aaah, The Search. I understand it well,,,I tend to wander, ramble about,,,,always trying something new, different. Maybe that's just the way we're made,,,,I've learned to live with it, go with it,,,and have fun! For me the "joy is in the process".
I've never seen it set in stone that we must find one singular thing and stay with it.

And this piece IS exciting!
Wonderful light emanating from within.

Have you ever tried working with watercolor paper blocks? They are glued together and don’t buckle with water. When you are done, just release them with a dull knife.
