Some small abstracts

It has been a long time since I last posted in this blog but I have been busy trying to learn the wet on wet technique in realism and some Plein Air, which I post on my A Constant Search blog. I'll be doing a little more abstracts along with the other work, from now on.

Such wonderful movement and raw texture. Excellent paintings, Mary!

Thank you, Jessica. I do always feel the need to come back to the abstracts, I guess it gives you a sense of freedom.

Mary - I love the first one - really does something for me. Not sure if its the colour or the tension. One of these days I'll give abstracts a go.

Mary, you have been busy! I love all of these! the first looks like a gas flame to me, the second a feather caught on a blade of dry field grass. the third looks like Fall leaves floating on the surface of a brook under a deep blue sky.

You have done beautiful work here. Great tension, organic edges, movement with repetition and variety and eye appeal. The first one is my favorite. I am a fan of orange and you have done orange so well! Earthy orange, not safety orange. I am glad I found your blog.
