I like the color dominance in this. Was it fun to paint? I hope you are doing well Mary.

Leslie, thank you for your visit. I had fun with this but it is a recycled painting and I just realized I didn't blog about it. I have several I would like to change so I wonder what I will have to show in next posts. We are fine Leslie, thank you.

Katelen, Yes this does have a lot of texture. It was a painting from a series I was doing of fossils but I wasn't quite happy with it and I did have a time trying to achieve some rest areas for the eye with the amount of texture this has, but it was fun. Thank you for the comment!

Powerful piece, Mary! Is that gold paint I see in the middle?

I love this earthy orange... the look of a worn stone wall in the paleness and the touch of purple... Roxanne

Thank you Billie, no it is not gold paint it is just creme color acrylic but over many layers of earth tones so I think that gives it a goldish tint to it.

Thank you Roxanne, I do love worn walls so I think trying to recycle this, what was underneath helped the end result.

It's always interesting to me how the 'history' on a canvas adds so much to the new work.
It's beautiful!

Powerful abstract. It's like staring at a burning wall with a faint image of a dragon on the verge of vanishing into oblivion. The orange color, cracks, and rough texture--all contributed to the intense appeal of this masterpiece.

I love everything about this painting—the colors, the texture, the abstract design. Bravo!
